TANGAIL, Feb 11, 2014 (BSS)-One septuagenarian was killed and his grand son was injured in a road accident in Kurni area on
Dhaka-Tangail Highway in Mirzapur Upazila here today.
The deceased was identified as Mokaddhes Ali, 70, at Ichhail village of the upazila.
The incident took place when a sand laden truck hit them while they were crossing the road. Mokaddhes Ali died on the spot
and his grand son Arafat, 7, received injuries at 10.15 am, said Sub-inspector of Gorai Highway Thana Mozammel Hossain.
Local people blocked the road after the incident. Later, police rushed to the spot and controlled the situation.
Police also seized the truck.
