Queen’s Cup, Thailand: Siddikur in the running opening with 6-under  

Dhaka – Bangladesh’s trailblazing golfer Siddikur Rahman was flawless with six birdies and shared third place in the US$300,000 Queen’s Cup teeing off the first round at Phoenix Gold Golf and Country Club in Thailand on Thursday.Siddikur shared third place with American Paul Peterson and Danthai Boonma of Thailand on matching 65s. All three stayed two shots behind the leader Poom Saksansin of Thailand.
Another Thai player Jazz Janewattananond carded seven-under-par 64 to get the second spot in the 1st round.
The two-time Asian Tour winner, Siddikur birdied two in the first9 and moved up with four birdies more to end the next.
Siddikur putted the par-5 second and par-4 fifth holes, taking one shot less than the pars in the first9.
He started the second session with two successive birdies putting the par-4 holes 10th and 11th before traded a birdie in the par-3 hole 16th and finished the day with another birdie in the par-5 hole 18th.UNB
