Dhaka– A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in a special drive, detained five kidnappers along with firearms and bullets and rescued two abducted men from Teknagpara of Gazipur city on Friday.RAB-1 sources said on information a team of the elite force, led by its camp commander additional superintendent of police Mohiul Islam, conducted the drive at an under construction building of one Harun-Ar-Rashid in the area early Friday.The detainees were identified as Niloy, 22; Rakib, 20; Shakil Molla, 21; Sohel Rana, 20; and Sohag, 23.The elite force official said Mirajul Islam, 25, from Natore and Rakibul Islam from Rajshahi district were kidnapped at gunpoint from Joydebpur Chourasta area on May 18 last.Later, the kidnappers demanded ransom from their family members over mobile phone.But on Friday morning Mirajul managed to flee and informed the RAB members. Later, the team of the elite force conducted the drive and held the kidnappers and rescued Rakib, said the official.The law enforcers also recovered a foreign pistol, two rounds of bullets, three knives, six mobile phone sets and a credit card from the scene, he added.In primary quizzing the detainees admitted their involvement with abduction and other crimes for a long time.UNB newws agency
