Chittagong, Oct 5 – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) cordoned off a ‘militant den at Shonapahar in Mirsarai Upazila of Chittagong early Friday.
Tipped off, a team of Rab conducted a drive in the area around 3 am and cordoned off a house, said Shafayat Jamil Fahim, commanding officer of Feni Rab-7 camp. At one stage, he said, the militants opened fire and threw bombs at the elite forces, prompting them to retaliate.
The elite force is now waiting for its bomb disposal unit to arrive and then it will take its next steps, said the Rab official. – UNB
