Rain delays resumption of Chittagong Test

Dhaka – Heavy rain delayed the start of the third day’s play in the second and final test between Australia and Bangladesh on Wednesday.Australia, who were beaten inside four days in the first test in Dhaka, will resume on 225 for two, still 80 behind the hosts’ first innings total of 305 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
David Warner will resume on 88 with Peter Handscomb on 69, the blossoming third wicket partnership already worth 127 runs.
The Met office has forecast light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind at a few places over Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Khulna and Barisal divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country on Wednesday.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, said a Met bulletin.
Country’s minimum temperature on Monday was recorded 24.2 degree Celsius at Rangamati and today’s highest temperature 36 degree Celsius in Rajshahi.
