Dhaka, Sep 6 -Six people, including two of a family, were killed and 20 others injured in a collision between a passenger bus and a covered van at Kandail on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Madhabdi upazila of Narsingdi on Wednesday morning.One of the deceased was identified as Sumi Begum, 16 while the identities of others were not immediately known.
Illias, Officer-in-charge of Madhabdi police station, said the Dhaka-bound bus coming from Monohardi of Narsingdi collided head-on with the Bhairab-bound covered van. Under the impact of the jolt both the vehicles fell into a roadside ditch around 7:00 am, leaving four people dead on the spot and 22 others injured.
Among the injured, one died on way to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital and another on way to Dhaka for treatment. – UNB
