Ramna Batamul explosion case adjourned till match 9

A Dhaka court on Thursday adjourned the argument of the case in connection with the Ramna Batamul carnage till March 9.
Judge Ruhul Amin of Dhaka’s Second Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court heard the arguments of the for three consecutive days and passed the order of adjournment on Thursday.On Thursday, Advocate Mizanur Rahman placed arguments on be half of his client and accused of the case, Arif Hasan Sumon.
During the traditional celebrations of Bangla New year 1408 (April 14, 2001) at capital’s Ramna Batamul, a blast killed 10 people and injured more than 50 others.
Nine of the accuse, including Mufti Hannan, are now in custody, while the remaining five, including Moulana Tajuddin, brother of BNP leader Abdus Salam Pintu, are absconding. All 14 accused were operatives of Huji. – Court Correspondent
