Mayor of Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) and valiant freedom fighter
Sharfuddin Ahmed Jhantu has directed the concerned authorities and
contractors to ensure ensuring quality in all construction works.He issued the instruction while launching the construction of Purbo
Khasbag Road with drainage systems in Purbo Khasbag area under Ward
No- 30 in the city on Monday afternoon as the chief guest.
RCC councilors Jahangir Alam Tota, Muktar Hossain, local Awami League
leader Sheikh Bachchu Mian, BNP leader Malek Neaz Arzoo, Jatiya Party
leader Abdul Jalil, former Ward Commissioner Syed Sajjad Hossain,
social workers Abdus Sobhan, Hafizar Rahman Mukul and Mokbul Hossain,
student leader Taufikur Rahman Apu and contractor Zillur Rahman were
present, among others, in the ceremony.
After inaugurating the construction works, the RCC Mayor, along with
high officials and local people, offered special munajats there.
In his speech, the RCC mayor cautioned that no irregularities will be
tolerated in construction works and asked all concerned for ensuring
quality with maximum transparency and accountability.
Jhantu pledged for truing RCC into an international standard clean and
most beautiful city in the country as well as in the region as whole
with excellent communication networks, congenial environment and
eye-catching looks.
It may be mentioned there that the road carpeting works with sewerage
systems are being conducted as part of the phase- wise construction
packages of 58 separate roads, drains, culverts etc in the city
corporation area at a cost of Taka 14.29 crore.
