TCB starts selling essentials in Rajshahi

Ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, Trading Corporation of Bangladesh
(TCB) has started selling essentials at fair prices through its
authorized dealers in all eight districts of Rajshahi division on
Sunday last, official sources said.The government has launched selling of essential commodities among the
common people to keep prices of the essentials under control during
the upcoming holy Ramadan, Mahbubur Rahman Talukder, Rajshahi Regional
Office head of TCB, said.
A total of 402 TCB dealers have been selling these items in the
division including 108 in Rajshahi district. Besides, the essentials
are being sold in the city area by five dealers and through five
mobile trucks. The regional officers of TCB have been monitoring the
open market sale process .
Five mobile trucks have started selling sugar, ‘Chhola’, bottled and
open soybean oil, palm oil and lentil at 15 points in the city.
Each mobile truck will sell 1,000 kgs sugar, 200 kgs lentil and
‘Chhola’ each and 200 litres soybean oil everyday.
Under the programme, sugar is being sold at Taka 44 per kg, ‘Chhola’
at Taka 60 and bottled soybean oil at Taka 121 and open at Taka 105
per litre, palm oil at Taka 75 per litre, lentil at Taka 70 per kg by
the TCB dealers.
“We have sufficient stock of the selected commodities. We are
monitoring the selling activities round the clock so that the
commoners can purchase their cherished goods at fair prices,” said
Mahbub Talukder.
