Ranveer Singh to have stake profits in future projects

In the past one year, if there is any actor who has consistently managed to earn critical acclaim along with the audiences’ approval it has to be Ranveer Singh. The actor started last year on a high by delivering an impressive performance as Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat and was later seen in the commercial action drama Simmba, which went on to become a major box-office success. His last release was Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy in which he portrays the role of a hip-hop artist who rises to the top from the streets of Mumbai. His recent run of successful films have earned him massive credibility at the box-office. The actor will now reportedly be taking a share of profits from his upcoming projects like Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan.
A report in a leading daily claims that the actor will no longer be taking a fee but will demand a share of the profits from the collections of his films. A source stated, “Ranveer is no longer the heir apparent. He is the superstar of this generation as his track record of delivering blockbusters show. And he has been delivered blockbusters consistently. Post Padmaavat, which saw his performance propel the film to shatter several box office records, Ranveer’s equity has seen a meteoric rise. A first choice of producers and directors, Ranveer now has a substantial pie of the profits and filmmakers are sweetening the deal for him by offering him a big margin.”
After seeing his impressive track record, it seems that the producers too don’t mind sharing their profits with the superstar. The source added, ““Ranveer’s on top form with back to back blockbusters and from Simmba he has been getting a major percentage of profit share. Kabir Khan’s 83 has a big profit percentage carved out for Ranveer. In fact, for all films going forward, Ranveer will have profit share chalked out for him. Only the big superstars of our times have been able to command this status and Ranveer has reached this place in just 8 years. It’s an incredible success story.”
The actor’s last film Gully Boy has already scored big at the box-office despite the film catering to a niche audience and the lack of awareness regarding the hip-hop culture of the country. The film has already raked in Rs. 95 crore at the box-office and is expected to cross the Rs. 100 crore mark on Thursday, reports ANI .
