Recent statement of EC proves its politicisation: B chy

President of Bikalpadhara Bangladesh Prof Dr AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury on Sunday alleged that the recent statement of the Election Commission proved that it has been politicised.“The EC has been politicized. That’s why it is clear that the next elections under the present government will be monopoly one,” he said while addressing an iftar mahfil at Kafrul in the city.
Kafrul Thana unit of Bikalpadhara organised the function with its president Noor Mohammad in the chair.
The former President said the Prime Minister wants to hold the next election under the supervision of the present government so that she and her 20 ministers could avail the government privileges completely during the polls.
“The government has been trying to politics the administration totally to gain the political ends,” he added.
The elderly leader said Prime Minister’s son might announce the possibility of Awami League’s return to power based on this information.
He said the apprehension of coming unelected government in the country would increase and the democracy would be drowned if the government doesn’t show its patience now on.
Chowdhury reiterated his call upon the government to announce immediately that the general elections would be held under the caretaker government.
“The Prime Minister will be held responsible to the history if the democracy of the country is hampered,” he added.
