Dhaka, March 12 – The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka yesterday deferred the date for submission of the investigation report in the case filed over operation at a militant den in the capital’s Kalyanpur area to April 19.Magistrate Mazharul Islam of the CMM Court fixed the new date as police inspector Mohammad Jahangir Alam of police intelligence agency Counter Terrorism and Transnational Unit could not submit the report on Monday.
Police conducted a nightlong drive on a five-storey building known as ‘Zahaj Building’ at Road No.5 of Kalyanpur area on July 25 in 2016, leaving nine suspected militants dead. Besides, police arrested one Hassan with bullet –injury and another fled the scene. They all were reportedly members of the Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB).
Two days after the operation, Mirpur Model Police Station Inspector Md ShahJahan Alam filed the case accusing 9 persons under the Counter Terrorism Act. – Special Correspondent
