Return Salahuddin unharmed, urges wife

Renewing her claim that law enforcers picked up BNP joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed, his wife Hasina Ahmed on Thursday demanded that the BNP leader be returned unharmed.
She came up with the demand at a press briefing at Law Reporters Forum office on the Supreme Court premises.
Speaking at the press conference, Hasina, also a former MP, vented anger saying, “One would be picked up like this and no one will say anything how could this happen?”She claimed that Salahuddin was picked up by those who identified them as detectives to the security guard of the house where he had been staying.
Hasina demanded that the BNP leader be returned unharmed in the same condition he was while picked up or be produced before court.
In reply to a query, Hasina said she contacted all the law enforcement agencies except Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) to enquire about her husband’s whereabouts.
Responding to a petition filed by Hasina earlier in the day, the High Court issued a rule asking the government to explain why directions should not be given to find out Salahuddin and produce him before the court by Sunday.
In her petition, Hasina said the law enforcers picked up Salahuddin from a house in Uttara Sector-3 around 10:15 on Tuesday night. – UNB
