Rizvi on another spell of remand

A Dhaka court yesterday (Tuesday) granted three days’ fresh remand for BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi in a case filed for instigating vandalism and arson.Magistrate Mustafizur Rahman of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the order on Tuesday afternoon after hearing. Earlier, Rizvi was produced to the court with a 5-day remand plea in the case filed on charges of instigating vandalism and arson in Mohammadpur area of the capital on January 17.
As of Tuesday Rizvi was placed on a total of 28 days’ remand for interrogation in seven cases. On January 31, he was arrested at a house in the capital’s Baridhara area for his alleged involvement in violence. – Court Correspondent
