Robbers looted gold and cash worth Tk 15 lakh from a house at Karpasdanga village in Damurhuda upazila on Sunday night.
Two house inmates and a villager were injured by the robbers in the incident. Witnesses said a gang of robbers attacked Abdul Malek, a filling station owner, and his assistant Shohag with sharp weapons, while they were entering his (Malek’s) house and chopped them, leaving both of them injured and snatched away cash Tk10 lakh at around 10:00pm.Later, the robbers entered the house and looted seven tolas of gold ornaments and fled the scene exploding six bombs creating panic among the locals.Meanwhile, Abdul Malek fired a gunshot from his licensed pistol in which Robiul Islam, a local got injured.Ahsan Habib, officer-in-charge of Damurhuda Police Station, confirmed the incident and said investigation was going on. -UNB, Chuadanga
