Robbers looted cash and valuables worth Tk 15 lakh from the house of
an expatriate at Bilmamudpur village in Sadar upazila early Monday.
Police said a group of 10/12 robbers entered the house of Sekandar Ali
Sheikh and made the members of his family hostage at gunpoint around
2am. They looted 20 tolas of gold, cash Tk 3 lakh and other valuables
after beating up Sekandar Ali Sheikh, 50, his wife Rahima Begum, 40,
Dubai expatriates younger brother Billal Sheikh, 42 and son Rashed
Sheikh,30.
The robbers fled the scene when Salam Member, a neighbour of Sekandar
Ali, fired gunshots at the robbers.
All the injured were admitted to Faridpur Medical College hospital.
