22 out of 40 Barisal councilors from 18-party

Some  22 out of 40 councilors (30 general and 10 reserved female
councilors)  have been elected from BNP-led 18-party alliance  while
12 new comers passed in third Barisal City Corporation election held
on Saturday .
Out of rest 17 posts 9 was backed by AL-led 14-party alliance while
Jamat activists received 1, JP(Ershad)-1 councilor post and rest 7
were independent.   All of the 4 female candidates contested for
general councilor posts were defeated.
The reelected 11 general ward councilors of BCC are : AKM Murtaza
Abedin (JP, Ward 2), Mainul Huq (BNP, Ward 5), Selim Howlader ( BNP,
Ward 8), KM Shahidullah ( BNP, Ward 12), Syed Jakir Hosain Jelal (BNP,
Ward 15), Akhtaruzzaman Hiru (AL, Ward-17) Mir AKM Zahidul Kabir (BNP,
Ward 18), Gazi Naimul Hossain Litu (AL, Ward-19), Altaf Mahmud (BNP,
Ward 21), Ziauddin Shikdar Zia (BNP, Ward-25), M Humaun Kabir (BNP,
Ward 28).
The new comer 19 general ward councilors of BCC are : Syed Saidul
Hasan (BNP, Ward 1), Syed Habibur Rahman Faruk (BNP, Ward 3), Yunus
Mia (BNP, Ward 4),Habibur Rahman (BNP, Ward 6), Syed Akbor Hossain
(BNP, Ward 7), Harunor Rashid (BNP, Ward 9), Joynul Abedin ( AL, ward
10), Mojibor Rahman,  (AL, Ward 11), Mehedi Parvez Khan (Independent,
Ward 13),  Advocate Salahuddin Masum ( Jamat, ward-14), Mosharraf Ali
Khan ( BNP, Ward 16),  S M Zakir Hossain (AL, Ward 20) ,Shahidul Islam
Talukdar (BNP, Ward 22), Rezaul Islam Chowdhury Rizvi (AL, Ward 23),
Firoz Ahmed (BNP Ward 24) , Fariduddin Howladar ( BNP, Ward 26),
Nurul Islam ( BNP Ward 27 ), Kazi Monirul Islam (BNP, Ward 29) and
Khairul Mamun (BNP, Ward 30).
The reelected seven councilors of reserved seats for females are
Sharif Taslima Kalam Poly (BNP, female reserved-1), Kohinur Begum (AL,
reserved female ward 3) Kamrunahar Rosy (AL, female reserved ward-5),
Salma Akter Shila (AL, female reserved ward 7), Reshmi Begum
(independent, female reserved ward 8), Selina Begum (independent,
female reserved ward 9) and Rashadia Parvin (independent, female
independent reserved 10).
Three new comers in seats reserved for female candidates are: Zahanara
Begum (Independent female reserved ward 2), Maksuda Akhtar Mitu
(independent female reserved ward 4), and Israt Aman Rupa (independent
female reserved ward 6).
