Local leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student body
Islami Chhatra Shibir blocked Joypurhat-Naogaon road in sadar upazila
for three hours on Tuesday morning protesting the seizure of a
motorcycle of a Shibir man by police.
Some Jammat-Shibir activists took to the street in Tentulia area of
the upazila at about 7.00 am and blocked the road by felling trees,
obstructing vehicular movement.
Later, traffic movement on the road became normal at about 10am
following police intervention.
Earlier on Monday night, police seized a motorcycle of a Shibir man
from Nakuria village of the upazila failing to arrest him.
