Rajshahi – The Janmashtami, a religious festival of Hindu Community to mark the birth of Lord Krishna has been celebrated at Rajshahi University (RU) amid festivity and religious fervour on Monday.On occasion of the day, the colorful rally was brought out on the campus at 09.00am followed by a discussion meeting held at the premises of the university central temple.
Moderated by Central Puja Udjapon Parisad Subrata Kumar Boumik, president of the parisad Biswanath Shikdar presided over it.
University Vice-Chancellor Professor M Abdus Sobhan addressed the function as cheif guest.
Madan Mohon Dey of the Accounting and Information system department spoke at the program as keynote speaker.
Speakers at the discussion meeting, stressed need to follow the ideals and teachings of Lord Krishna to maintain peace, harmony and stability in society consisting different cast and creeds.
University Student advisor M Mizanur Rahman, Proctor M Lutfur Rahman and Deputy High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Patralika Mitra were present there among others. – RU Correspondent
