RU formed probe committee over life threat to teacher

Dhaka-The Rajshahi University (RU) authority has formed a probe committee over the life threat to the former Director General (DG) of Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) and also an associate professor of Mass Communication & Journalism (MCJ) department Prof. Dulal Chandra Biswas and other teacher. RU authority formed a three member committee with head by dean of science faculty Prof. Akhtar Faruk and two others Law faculty dean Prof. Abu Nasser Md wahid and Prof. Abdullah Al Mamun of English department.
This decision has taken from the 466th syndicate meeting on Wednesday evening headed by vice chancellor Prof. Muhammed Mizan Uddin at the VC`s lounge.
On information, Mustaq Ahmed a teacher of MCJ department was threatened to Prof. Dulal at the academic meeting of the department recently. After the incident Mr. Dulal made a written allegation to the vice chancellor into the matter. Even Mustaq also placed a same allegation to the authority aginst Prof. Dulal.
Sources said that at last the issue was addressed between two teachers in another academic meeting on June 08. Writing copy of the resolution has sent to the vice-chancellor office.
But the issue has been enlisted at agenda of the syndicate meeting as both teachers made written allegation against each to another.
Probe committee Chief Prof. Faruk told the newsmen that “since twice teachers had complained to the vice-chancellor counter-volte-face, for that the inquiry committee has been formed to look into the matter”.-RU Correspondent
