Rajshahi – Demanding punishment of BCL activists over attack on two Journalists of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), the reporters of Rajshahi University (RU) formed a human chain in front of central library of the university at 12:00 am on Wednesday.RU Sunshine correspondent Hossain Mithu moderated the program while president of Rajshahi University Press Club (RUPC) Taslimul Alam Towhid, General secretary Emdadul Haque Shohagh, President of Rajshahi University Journalists Association (RUJA) Hasan Adib, General secretary Mustafiz Rony, President of Rajshahi University Reporters Unity (RURU) Kaykobad-Al Mamun and around 50 journalists were present there.
Speaker said, attack on journalist has become a common scene in our country as authority keeps silent in the happened incident. BCL’s attack on journalists while protesting eve-teasing is not expected. They demanded the fair investigation of the matter and punishment of criminals early as possible.
Noted that, Vice President of SUST Press Club and campus correspondent of Daily Shokaler Khobor Syed Nabiul Alam Dipu, General Secretary and district correspondent of The Daily Observer Sarder Al Abbas, were allegedly beaten by Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists after they protested an incident of stalking on April 08. – RU Correspondent
