RU observes Bangabandhu’s birth anniversary

Rajshahi – The 98th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day were observed on the Rajshahi University (RU) campus on Friday amidst much festivity.On the occasion, the university authorities arranged a day-long programme that included placing of floral wreaths at Bangabandhu’s portrait, colorful rally, discussion, drawing competition, and quiz contest.
RU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Mizanuddin, Pro-VC Prof Dr. Chowdhury Sarwar Jahan, treasurer Prof Sayen Uddin Ahmed, register Prof Enthajul Haque, administrator of public relation office Md. Mashihur Rahman, other top officials and teachers of the university, paid homage to Father of the Nation by placing wreaths at his portrait in front of Bangabandhu Hall at 7:45am.
Later, RU Bangabandhu Parishad, different socio-cultural and political organizations of the university placed wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
A colorful rally, mostly participated by children and students of university Sheikh Rasel Model School, was brought out from Shabash Bangla premises at 8:00am that rounded through the main streets of the campus. RU VC inaugurated the rally by releasing balloons and festoons.
A children’s rally, cake cutting ceremony and speech competition were organized at the premises of Sheikh Rasel Model School at 8:30am.
Besides, several discussion programs, drawing competition, quiz contest on Bangabandhu’s autobiography ‘The Unfinished Memories’ participating by childrens, held on the campus in different parts of the day. – RU Correspondent
