RU VC, pro-VC sued for class vi employee recruitment

Dhaka – A case was filed with a Rajshahi court on Thursday accusing the vice chancellor, pro-vice chancellor, registrar and recruitment committee of 4th grade employees of Rajshahi University of being involved in recruitment irregularities over three staff posts.The Rajshahi District Senior Assistant Judge Court served a show cause notice asking RU authorities to explain within seven days why the recruitment process for 4th grade employees should not be declared illegal.
The case has been filed jointly by Sohel Rana, Saidur Rahman and Towhidul Islam.
In the case paper they mentioned that via two advertisements on September 24 and October 10 respectively RU sought applications to appoint some 44 fourth grade employees including bus driver, cleaner and lower class assistant posts.
The three plaintiffs applied for jobs. But while the written test was held on Nov 24, they did not get any interview card for the test. Even the authority did not tell them they were not qualified candidates.
The court also asked the university administration for decree so that they can take part in the recruit test. – RU Correspondent
