Ruling party establishes ‘reign of terror’: BNP

Dhaka, Aug 11 – BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Saturday alleged that the ruling party has established a ‘reign of terror’ in the country by defying rules.“Under the rule of the current government, the ruling party terrorists have turned the entire country into a state of terror by disrespecting the laws and rules,” he said in a statement.
The statement was issued protesting the attack on Feni unit Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal president Zakir Hossain Jasim’s business institution.
Fakhrul also alleged that the government has continued attacks and repression on BNP leaders and activists to politically harass and humiliate them.
The BNP leader claimed that the ruling party ‘cadres’ attacked ‘Sensive’ Hospital in Feni owned by Jasim, leaving its many staff and nurses injured.
“The attack on a service-providing institution has demonstrated how much severe the government’s brutal attitude towards its opponents,” he observed.
He demanded the government arrest the attackers and mete out exemplary punishment to them. – UNB
