Rumana renders Khan Ataur’s songs

Rumana Islam, daughter of renowned artiste and music composer Khan Ataur Rahman, recently rendered songs written and composed by her late father at a solo musical soiree which was held at Sufia Kamal Auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum in the city.Shangeetangon, a music based magazine organised the show. The music magazine previously organised two solo shows featuring noted singers Linu Billah and Nazibul Haque Nazib.
Rumana rendered a number of contemporary songs at the show and chose a patriotic one to lay the opening of the show. She next rendered eight songs of Khan Ataur Rahman, which are- “Haire Amar Mon Matano Desh”, “Tumi Cheyechile Ogo Jante”, “Tomar Agune Jorano”, “Mon Majhi Tor Boitha Nere”, “Mayer Moton Apon Keu Nai” and “Ei Ki Sonar Aloye”.
Rumana Islam, a widely known singer in our musical arena. She is also an architect. She is perfectly doing well in both professions. She has visited many countries of different continents in the world. Her mother Mahbuba Rahman was one of the leading playback singers in the 70s and 80s in the nineteenth century. Her brother Agun is also a noted singer and he now occupies himself with acting in a number of single and serial dramas. She has brought out several CDs rendering different genres of songs.
