Rajshahi University Teachers Association (RUTA) demanded the justice for killing of Professor Shafiul Islam Lilon, who was hacked to death by some miscreants this day before one year ago.They brought out a protesting rally from in front of the senate building of the university that terminated at the same point with a meeting after parading the main streets of the campus.
RUTA president Professor Dr. Ananda Kumar Shaha, Chairman of the Social Science department Professor Dr. Wardatul Akmam, Professor Dr. Fazlul Haque of Islamic Histry, Professor Md. Masudul Hasan of Bio-Chemistry spoke at the While RUTA general secretary Professor Dr. Rezaul Karim moderated it.
Teachers, staff and students of different departments attended the event.
Speakers demanded the immediate justice of Lilon killing and also alleged that the government was not taking any step to hasten the trial of the case.
