RUTA stages silent protest against political ‘violence’

Rajshahi University Teachers’ Association (RUTA), an elected body of around 1200 teachers of the university, yesterday urged the all political parties in the country to take effective measures for the end of existing countrywide political violence.
About 200 teachers staged a silent protest at a human chain held at in front of the university senate building around 11:15am.They protested the current instability in the country and all types of violence in the name of democratic movement.They also expressed their deep concern over the countrywide violence, killing of innocent people by setting on fire, dead lock in public life and educational institutions.Ruta demanded the concerned authorities for immediate normalcy in all walks of life otherwise the country might have to pay a huge cost for the long term. Among others, RUTA president and secretary Kamrul Hasan Majumdar and Pranab Kumar Pandey respectively, Prof Shamsul Alam Sarkar, convener of white panel, Prof Dr Md.
