Situated in the College Gate upon Mirpur road, this Sonali Bank (SB) branch is one of the over-crowded banking outlets in the area serving hundreds of clients with limited infrastructural, technical facilities. Clients need to wait in queue for hours to get their banking work done. This branch operates accounts of a number of institutions including Residential Model School & College. Students and guardians of RMC face tremendous problem in depositing fees. Even after accepting the fees through opening three counters, the rush remains very high. There are the rush for depositing passport fees, withdrawing pensions, saving certificate benefits and many more.However the bank branch with its human resources (I think under staffed) and logistics leaves no chance to help serve the clients smoothly. The AGM of the branch attends patiently to the grievances of the clients who approach him. Even after so much effort, the services are not up to the standard.
I would draw the attention of the higher Sonali Bank authority to please look into the matter and undertake some measures to bring overall improvement to the services of this big bank branch.
Meanwhile, to mitigating the fees deposit problem, the RMC authority may opt for opening a bank branch/booth in their campus. It may be mentioned here that a Dutch-Bangla Bank branch has been opened in our Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University campus to serve these and other banking purposes although Sonali Bank, College Gate branch serves our main banking tasks.
