What’s a mega release without its share of controversies? Just like many other big-ticket films in the past, Bharat too has its own share of troubles before its release. While the buzz for Salman Khan’s Bharat is high, it has caught attention of some. According to a report, a Public Interest Litigation is filed in the Delhi High Court on Thursday, asking the filmmakers to change the title of the film.
The report said that the petitioner, Vikas Tyagi has stated in his plea that the movie is distorting the culture and political image of our great country Bharat and that the title is violating Section 3 of Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act, which states that the word ‘Bharat’ cannot be used for commercial purpose. The report quoted Vikas Tyagi saying, “This film is fraught with Salman’s typical flippancy and vulgarity. Being a ‘Bharatiya’, I feel it is not appropriate to name such a film or any character associated with this film after our great nation.”
It yet to be seen how the makers of Bharat will react to this legal hurdle as Bharat is about to hit the screens on June 5.
Meanwhile, trade buzz suggests that Salman Khan, who has been the face of the reality show Bigg Boss for many years now, is planning to collaborate with a Bollywood actress for the upcoming season. Reportedly, he has suggested that the makers include a female co-host this coming season to add freshness to the show. Apparently, Salman might take a backseat and give his female co-host more exposure so that she can bring newness to the show. However, nothing is concrete as of now, these are just ongoing conversations, the report suggested, reports ANI.
