School should be a safe place

Recently more than 100 children have lost their life and several others injured in a horrific attack at a school in Peshawar, Pakistan. Gunmen entered the school premises and indiscriminately opened fire on innocent children who were attending classes and exams in the morning session. We have no word to condemn this barbaric act. I fully endorse the observation of the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon as he said: “No grievance can excuse such horror. It is an act of horror and rank cowardice to attack defenseless children while they learn”.Schools should be a safe place of learning where children can feel themselves protected and secure.
While extending deep condolences to the parents and relatives who lost their children in the horrific attack, we would expect governments globally to take appropriate measures to make schools safer and secure.
