A minor schoolgirl drowned in the Doibhanga River at Raghunathpur
village in Sadar upazila on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Ananya, 7, a class II student of the
local primary school and daughter of Abdul Wahab of the village.
Villagers said Ratna drowned in the river while taking bath with her
grandmother around 4pm.
Later, locals recovered her body after a frantic search.
Our Correspondent adds: A boy identified as Tufan Akon, 5, son of
Abdul Hye Akon, of Sudardi area under Gournadi municipal town of the
district died after falling into a pond on Saturday morning.
Abul Kalam, Gournadi police station in charge, quoting family sources,
said Tufan while playing at courtyard of the house fall and went
missing at about 9:00 am.
He was recovered from the pond adjacent to the house after search at
about 11:00 am and declared as dead after brought to upazila health
complex.
Police after lodging a case of unnatural death handed over the body to
