Rajshahi – A schoolgirl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her house after being stalked by a youth at Char Shyampur Balurghat Shantinagar in Motihar area of the city on Monday.Quoting victim’s mother Negar Banu, police said Rezaul Karim used to tease her daughter Amena Khatun, 14, a class VII student of a local school.On Sunday, Rezaul proposed Amena while she was going to take bath in a river adjacent to their house.Knowing everything from Amena, Haider Ali, father of the victim, informed the matter to local people who arranged an arbitration to settle the matter.Being failed to bear the humiliation, Amena hanged herself from the ceiling of the house around 10 am, said Humayun Kabir, officer-in-charge of Motihar Police Station.On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue.
