Manikganj – Police arrested four suspected robbers following an aborted robbery attempt in Gongadhorpatti area of the district town early Monday.The arrestees were identified as Piar Ali Shikder of Joymontop village, Iman Ali of Sonatengra village of Singair upazila; Liakot Ali and Debnath of Char area in Keraniganj upazila of Dhaka.Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Aminur Rahman said a gang of robbers stormed the house of Arpana Ray of the village at about 2:30 am.Informed, police rushed to the spot and tried to catch them.Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the robbers attacked them with sharp weapons.In retaliation, police opened fire at the robbers, leaving four of them bullet injured.Later, police arrested the four robbers while their others associates managed to flee the scene.The injured were admitted to Manikganj Sadar Hospital.A case was filed in this connection.
