Rajshahi, Jan 25 – A schoolgirl was killed allegedly after rape at Madila village in Bagmara upazila of Rajshahi district on Monday night.Rakij Hossian, who was arrested in this connection, has been sent to jail custody on Wednesday afternoon, said Nasim Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Bagmara Police Station.
The deceased was identified as Mabium Sultana, a class X student at Syed Moyez Uddin Girls’ High School of the upazila and daughter of Shewly Khatun at Madila village of the same upazila.
According to case statement, alleged rapists Islam Hossain and Rakij Hossian entered Mabium’s house in absence of family members and took her to a nearby field and raped her.
Later, they strangled her to death and carried her body by a motorbike to a village doctor and fled away.
On information, police recovered the body. Victim’s mother filed a murder case with Bagmara Police Station on Tuesday. Police, meanwhile, in a drive arrested Rakij Hossain. – UNB
