Sea ports asked to hoist signal 3, Bay low heads towards Bd

Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal no three as the deep depression over coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining area moved north-northeastwards weakened into depression and then into a well-marked low over northwest bay of Bengal and adjoining area.

It is likely to move north-northeasterly direction further and weaken gradually by giving precipitation, said a special bulletin of the Met office.Under its influence gusty/squally wind is likely to affect the maritime ports and coastal areas of Bangladesh.All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to remain in shelter till further notice.

Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Sylhet and Dhaka divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions.Night temperature may fall (2-4)°C and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.
