Seat business at BAU: General students in crisis

Mymensingh, Jan 24 – The ruling party’s student organization Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) face allegation of seat business in the residential halls in the campus. Extreme seat crisis has arisen among the halls and the general students being sufferer.
Found on an investigation, BCL general secretary of BAU unit Miah Mohammad Rubel’s followers’ Hall President Abu Sayeed at Shahjalal Hall found allegation in receiving money of 5 to 6 thousand taka from each other for 10 students who are come from other universities. On the other hand, President of BCL BAU Sabuj Kazi’s follower General Secretary of Shahjalal Hall Mirajul Islam took the money about 5 thousand taka from each of the 21 students who came to study Masters’ from other universities.
Provost of the Shahjalal Hall Prof Dr Gopal Das said that ‘I divide every responsibility to the hall house tutors. If you want to know about irregularities, it is a picture of the whole university.’
President and General Secretary of BAU BCL said, if administration ban residential of the Masters students who come from outside than such opportunity will not happened.
Provost Council convener Professor Dr Md Ashraful Haque said that, ‘I have no information about seat business in exchange of money.’ – BAU Correspondent
