The local administration on Friday imposed Section 144 at
Hataliabadghat in Sadar upazila as Awami League and BNP called
separate meetings at the same venue and same time for the day.
Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Monirul Islam said the
restriction will remain in force for 24 hours from 3pm on Friday.
Sources said local BNP called a rally in Hataliabadghat area for
Friday afternoon. On the other hand, local Awami League convened a
separate meeting at the same venue and same time.
Apprehending trouble, the local administration imposed a ban on all
kinds of gathering in the area to maintain the law and order.
