Seek FBI help to trace Salahuddin: Gen Mahbub

The opposition BNP on Friday called upon the government to seek coperation from US central intelegent agency FBI in traching out party joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed.
“The government assistance from the FBI if the law enforcers fail to find the where abouts of Salahuddin,” said BNP standing committee member Lt Gen (Retd) Mahbubur Rahman after he visited Salahuddin’s Gulshan residence. The BNP leader said the nation is stunned as the government failed to trace out Salahuddin Ahmed even 11 days after what his wife claimed was taken away by lawenforcers plainclothes from his hideout at Uttara.
“The government must find whereabouts of Salahuddin. It cannot avoid the responsibility, in no way,” he said.
Mahbubur Rahman enquired the wellbeing of Hasina Ahmed, the wife of Salahuddin, and their children.
He also suggested Hasina Ahmed to take assistance of FBI to trace out her husband.
Hasina Ahmed expressed her frustration as the law enforcers are declining the arrest of her husband even they have taken away him.
Replying to a question on BNP’s stance on forthcoming DCC and CCC polls, he said the paty would take decision in this regard after discussing it at party forum. – Staff Reporter
