Shawpnil’s recent activities for paying tribute to the Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore on his 75th death anniversary should not be neglected. On August 4 he was seen in a special episode of SATV’s Robir Abir. On August 7, which was the day of the death anniversary Shojib performed on Channel i. In the morning the regular musical show hosted by Shawpnil named “Aaj Shokaler Gaan” also aired a special episode comprising Tagore songs on ATN Bangla. He also performed in a seminar at Bangladesh National Museum which was co-organised by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.

Shawpnil claimed that he cannot help but admit being immensely happy for getting the honour to represent Bangladesh across the globe and though he seem to feel that he is rediscovering himself in most genres of music Tagore songs are the ones which seem to guide him most.
