Islami Chattra Shibir (ICS), the associate body of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, on Saturday called off its countrywide daylong hartal it called for Sunday because of inclement weather.“The shutdown programme has been called off due to inclement weather in the country, examinations of the National University and other reasons,” ICS secretary general Abdul Jabbar told UNB.
On Friday, Chhatra Shibir threatened to enforce a nationwide daylong hartal on Sunday if its arrested leaders and activists and missing ones are not released and traced by Saturday. (Source: UNB)
