Five noted personalities of Faridpur were accorded reception at a function at Faridpur Zila Shilpakala Academy in the district on
Tuesday for their cultural accomplishments.The five personalities who were adorned with the honor were: Md. Ainal Mia Bayati for his contribution in folk song, Selim Majumdar in music,Aminur Rahman Farid in drama, Abu Sufian Chowdhury Kushal for recitation and Md. Alauddin for his outstanding performance with musical instruments.Each recipient was awarded with a memento (Medal), scarf (Uttariyo), a cash of Taka ten thousand and a certificate.The selection of such meritorious personalities, who contributed for the cultural enrichment in each district, was done as per guideline of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, which also financed the programme’s expenditure.Earlier, a sub-committee was formed headed by Deputy Commissioner of Faridpur to select the meritorious, noted personalities of the district.DC Sardar Sharafat Ali attended the reception as the chief guest while the programme was chaired by ADC (Gen) Md. Abdur Rashid.DC Sharafat Ali said cultural activities keeps our mind fresh and brings dynamism to our national life. He said honoring culturally enriched personalities will open a new horizon in the district’s cultural arena and encourage people to work hard in their respective fields to attain feat.Police Super Md.
