Shilpakala remembers Subir Nandi

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy organized an event in remembrance of recently deceased singer Subir Nandi on Wednesday.
The memorial event was held at the National Theatre Hall of Shilpakala.
State Minister of Cultural Affairs KM Khalid attended the tribute program as the chief guest, with Subir Nandi’s daughter, wife, distinguished musicians, and guests from the music industry also present.
Shilpakala Director Liaquat Ali Lucky presided over the event.
Syed Abdul Hadi, Sabina Yasmin, Rafiqul Alam, Akramul Islam, Abida Sultana, and Andrew Kishore addressed the occasion, among others. They recalled their memories of Subir and discussed the works and achievements of the singer.
The award-winning singer died at a hospital in Singapore on May 7. He had received the Ekushey Padak earlier this year.
The singer won the National Film Award in the Best Male Playback Singer category on five occasions, for “Mahanayak (1984)”, “Shuvoda (1986)”, “Srabon Megher Din (1999)”, “Megher Pore Megh (2004)” and “Mohua Shundori (2015).”
