Shrina Aktar Kislu, wife of late UP Chairman Zahid Hasn was
non-officially elected chairman of Fakirhat Sadar UP under Fakirhat
Upazila in the district defeating Shaikh Harun-ar -Rashid, former
president of Fakirhat Upazila Jubo League and five others in the by
election held on Saturday amidst strict security.
Abdus Sattar, Upazila Election Officer of Fakirhat announced that,
Selina Aktar of pineapple symbol got 7,007 votes while Harun-ar-Rashid
of lock symbol got 4,414 votes.
The post of the UP chairman of Fakirhat was vacant when its
Chairman, local Awami League leader Zahid Hasan was gunned down by
unknown assailants near at Amdazbad Primary School under the adjacent
