A shoe factory worker was killed allegedly by his fellow for making ‘distasteful remarks’ about the latter’s wife at Shyambokshi in Sadar Dakkhin upazila on Wednesday evening.Their another fellow was injured in the incident. The deceased was identified as Rubel,32, son of Wazuddin from Pakati village of Gafargaon upazila in Maymensingh.The injured was identified as Kamal Hosen from Shyampur village of Burichang upazila in Comilla.
Locals said Al-Amin from Paharpur village of Burichang upazila had been living in a mess at Shyambokshi in Sadar Dakkhin upazila.
Rubel and Kamal, co-workers of Al-Amin at the shoe factory of Arku Company in the area, were occupants of a room beside his in the mess.Recently, Al-Amin had married Farzana, worker of the same factory.On Wednesday evening, Al-Amin brought his wife to his room.At this, Rubel and Kamal started to shout at Al-Amin blaming him for bringing ‘a bad girl’ to the mess.At one stage, Al-Amin stabbed both Rubel and Kamal with a knife. Rubel died on the way, as locals rescued them and took them to hospital.> Kamal is now undertaking treatment at Comilla Medical College Hospital.Aiyub Hosen, inspector of Sadar Dakkhin police station, confirmed the incident.
