Short film Ghraan to be screened tomorrow

Ghraan that won the Best Short Film award at the 41st Bangladesh National Film Awards will be careened at Alliance Francaise de Dhaka (AFD) in Dhanmondi in the capital. The show will be screened tomorrow at 6.30pm at the Auditorium Nouvelle Vague of AFD. The film stars Tauquir Ahmed, Saberi Alam, Fazlur Rahman Babu, among others. A discussion with the director- SM Kamrul Ahsan Lenin will follow the film screening. The film would run for half-an-hour.
Hailing from Sirajganj, SM Kamrul Ahsan Lenin caught the craze of photography after getting his hands on a Russian Zorki rangefinder camera in his teens. He moved to Dhaka after his graduation and found himself as a film activist with Bangladesh Short Film Forum (BSFF). He assisted prominent cinematographer L Apu Rozario and worked in notable films namely Autumn ’71 (2000) by Morshedul Islam, ‘Kalighor’ 2000 by Taraque Shahriar and ‘The Clay Bird’ (2002) by Tareque Masud. Lenin was also awarded the ‘Best Director Short Film 2017’ in SMR13 Festival International du film indépendant by Association Franaise du cinéma indépendant (AFCI) in France.
