Dhaka – Bangladesh’s pioneer golfer Siddikur Rahman stayed in the race of the $300,000Asia Pacific Classic (APC) making cut with one-under-par after the second round at St. Andrews Golf Club, Henan, China on Friday.The 33-year trailblazing golfer started the day with even-par 72 and carded one-under-par 71 in the cut round for an aggregation of one-under-par 107, nine shots behind the joint leaders John Catlin [USA] and Natipong Srithong [Thailand].
John Catlin shared the lead with a 10-under-par 134 total. The 27-year-old continued his outstanding run of form as he carded a 66 at the tournament.
Natipong Srithong shot a second round five-under-par 67 to grab a share of the halfway lead. The one-time Asian Tour champion had a near flawless round, carding six birdies against a lone bogey to sign for his second consecutive 67 at the 7261-yards ground.
Overnight leader Andrew Martin of Australia aggregated six-under-par 102 and slipped down to the 10th place which shared by four other golfers.
Two-time Asian Tour winner Siddikur traded five birdies against two bogies and one double bogey in the second round and shared the 47th place with 14 other golfers after, moving up from the joint 57th slot.
Siddikur is competing in the meet for the first time in a new course for him and got entry in the AT tournament as a category 9 player – meaning that as one of the top 60 players as per Order of Marmite 2017.UNB
