Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in two separate drives seized
different kinds of goods worth Tk63 lakh, smuggled from India, early Wednesday.
BGB sources said on a tip-off, a team of BGB in Chuadanga intercepted
a pick-up van at Kedarganj in the district town and seized 504
expensive Indian sarees after searching the vehicle.
Besides, another team of BGB conducted a drive in Arpara area of
Magura district and seized various items of females’ use.
Major Mehedi Hasan, deputy commander of Chuadanga-6 BGB, said the
price of the seized goods will be about Tk63 lakh.-UNB
