Snatchers stabbed a shop employee to death at city’s Dampara area in
the small hours of Monday.
The dead was identified as Jasimuddin (43), an employee of tyre shop
at city’s Bahadderhat area.
Police arrested Rana , one of the snatchers from near GEC intersection
of the city at around 1:00 pm .
A band of snatchers attacked Jashim the moment he got down from an
auto rickshaw near Bangladesh Women Association School on his way to
residence and locked in scuffle when Jashim refused to give his
belongings.
At certain stage, the snatchers indiscriminately stabbed him.
The critically injured Jashim was rushed to Chittagong Medical College
Hospital where attending doctors declared him dead at around 2am.
On receipt the information, a team of police led by Additional Police
Commissioner (South) Mustaque Ahmed arrested the snatcher Rana from
near Punak square .
Police said Rana is a drug addicted snatcher.
Police continued its drive to pick up accomplices of Rana.
