Tk. 1,20,000 was distributed among 60 poor meritorious students of eight educational institutions of
Chapainawabganj Sadar and Shibganj upazilas as stipend on Thursday.
Japan based volunteer’s organisation International Angel Association distributed the stipend. A
function was arranged on the occasion at the auditorium of Ranihati High School under Shibganj
upazila of the district. It was held with the head teacher of Ranihati High School Kamal Hossain in
the chair. It was addressed, among others, by programme officer of International Angel Association
Habibur Rahman as chief guest and former head teacher of the school journalist and freedom
fighter Taslim Uddin as special guest.
Teachers, students and local elites were present in the function.
It was disclosed in the function that the organisation has been giving stipend to 4,500 students of
schools, colleges and universities in this country, at present so that the poor meritorious students do
