Stock trading witnessed mixed trending on Thursday

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw mixed trend in early hours of trading on Thursday as investors remain active on both sides of the trading session.

Within first one hour of trading, DSEX, the benchmark index of DSE, rose over 5.18 points or 0.08 percent to 5,810 at 11:33 am.

The two other indices also edged higher. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 2.41 points or 0.17 percent to stand at 1,363.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also gained 1.75 points or 0.08 percent to stand at 2,148 points.

Trade deals stood at 22,397 with volume of transactions at Tk 810.72 million.

Of the issues traded till then, 131 advanced, 88 declined and 61 remained unchanged.

Monno Ceramic Industries Ltd was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 86.52 million changing hands till then followed by Usmania Glass Sheet Factory Bangladesh Lamps, LafargeHolcim Bangladesh and City Bank.

The port city bourse – Chittagong Stocks Exchange (CSE) – also witnessed downward trend in early hours with its Selective Category Index losing 14.03 points to 10,804.86 also at 11:32 am.

Of the issues traded till then, 33 gained, 49 declined and 20 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 27.32 million.
